Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of - throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.
Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.
He seeks…His people and sends them both sorrows and joys to detach their love from other things and attach it to himself.
…completed dreams can change the world…
God is faithful, and you can rely on His perfect timing. Fix your eyes on Him and enjoy the journey to your destination. There are things to be learned along the way that will enhance the joy of a promise fulfilled.
Worship is actually based on knowledge. Worship is the overflow of knowledge, it’s the overflow of understanding of who God is.
God turns pages in life…it is not like God often in our lives to put us in a place forever. God has seasons for us. There’s a time and a place for everything. He’s a page turner. So don’t ever get stuck in the past while God’s leading you to the future. Don’t ever think that something’s so great that you can’t let go of it and let God give you something else.
God doesn’t want religious duty. He doesn’t want a distracted, half-hearted “Fine, I’ll read a chapter…now are You happy?” attitude. God wants His word to be a delight to us, so much so that we meditate on it day and night.
